Mischief is not chaos. Chaos is clumsy - it crashes through the undergrowth, breaking branches it never meant to touch. Mischief is precise. It waits. It watches. It knows the moment to act, the one heartbeat where a single pawstep will shift the whole forest.

the trick is to be underestimated until it's too late

appearance  Mishki is your typical, run-of-the-mill red fox. His compact form is outfitted in a lush orange coat, with pure ivory adorning his chest, underbelly, tail tip, and muzzle, providing a stark contrast to the warmer hues of his ruddy pelt. His fur is a deeper shade of orange compared to his sister, Minsi, which is fortunate as it serves as a small way to tell the two apart. Black paws look as though he'd been dipped in ink, with the sable pigment extending up his legs and lightly painting his ears, tail, and muzzle. Amber eyes are set within a face that regularly bore a toothy, shit-eating grin, often beaming with mischief.

personality  Mishki's entire personality thrives on sarcastic quips and pestering others with his humour and pranks. The kid is an absolute jokester, he lives for the bit, even when it meant getting his ears cuffed. He seldom took matters seriously; rather, he prioritized good times and having fun. When it came to his social skills, Mishki could get along with anybody, the issue was finding someone that could put up with his clownish antics. The young man has a flirtatious side, though whether he actually has game or not was up for debate, as his flirting often comes in the form of playful teasing. Given Mishki's admittedly teenager-like disposition, it's hard to believe that he is, in fact, capable of experiencing complex emotions. Though, those sentiments are buried so deeply that they rarely have a chance to shine through, ultimately suppressed by his carefree personality. That, and his softer side is primarily reserved for his sister, who is treated with a fierce protectiveness brought forth by their co-dependence and shared trauma. The siblings love each other very much, and would do anything for the other. The pair also has an affinity for all things deemed "valuable", which usually ends up being shiny bits and bobs comprised of human trash, random trinkets, and really, anything that piques their interest. Mishki is more clever than he lets on, and loves flying under the radar.

the beginning  On a crisp autumn day in Elk Falls, Mishka and Minato welcomed their first litter of kits, two dashing boys and two beautiful girls - Mishki, Minik, Minsi, and Mishari. As with most kits, they spent the first few months of their lives learning, playing, and spending quality time together as a happy little family. Suffice to say, Mishki had a pretty conventional upbringing; it wasn't much, but it was peaceful, safe.At around six months old, Mishki would have to endure the most traumatic thing he'd ever experienced thus far. It was just another day in beautiful Elk Falls, but there were huge, dark grey clouds looming on the horizon. Mishki and his family were lounging by the river, enjoying the last bit of sunshine before the rain came. Mishka and Minato were teaching Minik and Mishari how to swim, while Mishki and Minsi watched from the riverbank. Their parents had opted to teach two kits at a time, because it would be easier to teach two how to swim than four - Mishki and Minsi's time would come later. It started to storm higher up the river, but it was far enough that it wasn't cause for concern just yet, it'd still be awhile before it reached them. Little did the family know, a dam was beginning to groan against the swelling river. Blissfully unaware, they carried on with the swimming lessons, laughing and playing around. It all happened so fast after the dam broke. The river water moved quickly, roaring as it surged downstream with impressive force, barrelling toward the unsuspecting family. Within seconds, the water was upon them. The current sucked them under and tossed them around like rag dolls as it carried them further and further away from Mishki and Minsi. The siblings tried to keep up with their family, little paws pounding as they ran alongside the swelling river, but the water was too fast, and within mere moments, their whole family had disappeared amongst the raging torrent.Shocked was an understatement as Mishki looked on, dismayed by what he had just witnessed. This incident changed everything. The siblings, now alone, had to learn how to stay alive. They developed both resourcefulness and cunning as a result of their trauma, depending on one another for survival. They would steal, lie, and scheme in order to survive, always protecting each other when things went south. Their philosophy was "do whatever it takes, trust no one, and leave no trace", and they lived by these words. the middle  Following the death of their family, Mishki and Minsi were forced into adulthood very fast. Being only six months old, the pair had relied on their parents for everything - food, shelter, knowledge - the now-orphans had to learn how to provide for themselves if they wanted to survive. With no hunting skills, they initially ate human trash when they could find it and scraps left over from other hunters. Eventually, they learned how to hunt; it was challenging at first, but they eventually got the hang of it, preying on mice and other small forest creatures. With their shared fear of deep water, they only drank from puddles and other shallow sources of water. While this lifestyle sustained them for a good while, the siblings found themselves getting hungrier and hungrier as they grew - the trash and mice weren't cutting it anymore. In order to adapt to their growing bellies, the pair began stealing from other hunters. They used a variety of tricks and schemes to steal prey, usually ending with them escaping into one of the various burrows they'd previously dug all around Elk Falls for this exact reason. Clever little devils. The siblings began to work smarter, not harder, and soon, trickery and mischief became second nature. Their shenanigans had become their main source of everything - food, shelter, entertainment - and it didn't seem like they'd slow down any time soon. present day  Presently, the siblings are still getting up to trouble, surviving the way they know best - through mischief and pranks. The pair is inseparable, their bond only strengthening as they continue to learn and grow together. Mishki protects Minsi fiercely, and they never leave each other's side. They don't stay in one location for too long, preferring to explore Elk Falls and follow their paws wherever they may lead them, achieving as much mischief and enjoyment as possible along the way.
